Holiday meals and Christmas gifts, for families in a hard season.

Each season we provide holiday meals and Christmas gifts for youth and families carrying a hard stretch.

What seasonal support is

The holidays, with someone alongside you.

One of three initiatives

Mentoring sits at the heart of our work. Seasonal support makes sure the holidays are covered too.

A meal for the table and gifts to open, given in a way that brings some hope and joy back into the holidays. That is the whole of it, and it is the one part of our work that runs on a calendar rather than on a relationship alone.

It sits alongside mentoring and practical support, and it’s offered the same way: with dignity and genuine care.

We walk alongside people. We don’t do things for them.

See everything we do

Our mission: Help, hope, and healing for our community through practical service and genuine care.

  • Empower children
  • Strengthen families
  • Inspire hope
  • Spread joy

What we provide

Two things, done with care.

Holiday meals and Christmas gifts. What each one looks like shifts a little from season to season, so here is the honest shape of both.

Holiday meals

A holiday meal for the table, so the day isn’t one more thing to get through.

What we’re going for
A table that feels like the holidays: something to gather around, at the time of year when going without is felt most.
What we’ll ask you
Who’s in your household, and anything you’d like us to know.
Good to know
What we’re able to do changes with the season, and we can’t promise every family who asks.

Christmas gifts

Christmas gifts for the children in your family.

What we’re going for
Something to open at Christmas, and one less thing for a family to carry in a hard season.
What we’ll ask you
Who the gifts would be for, and anything you’d like us to know.
Good to know
Ask with the Christmas assistance request further down this page. It only needs each child’s name and age.

Seasonal windows

How a season runs.

Signups for seasonal support follow the calendar, and the dates move from year to year. Giving is open all year. Here is the shape of a season, and what each part means depending on why you’re here.

Who this is for

If the season feels heavy, it’s for you.

Seasonal support is for youth, young adults, and families in the middle of a hard stretch, whether the holidays are the hard part or just the latest thing in a long year. You don’t need the right words, and you don’t need a plan before you get in touch.

  • Families already walking with us

If you’re in a mentoring relationship, or we helped with something practical earlier in the year, you’re already known here. Just say the word.

  • Youth and families in a hard season

You don’t have to have asked us for anything before, and you don’t have to be in crisis. A first conversation is enough.

  • Someone you care about

If you know a family who could use a hand this season, you can ask on their behalf.

Every family is welcome.

Big family or small, new to us or not, it’s fine to ask.

There’s no list to qualify for.

We don’t publish rules about who counts as needing help. If your family could use it, ask.

How to sign up

Start with a message.

Three steps, none of them complicated.

  1. Reach out

Email, call, or send a message from our contact page and choose “Seasonal support” as the topic.

  2. Tell us where things stand

In your own words: who’s in your household and anything you’d like us to know.

  3. We’ll take it from there

We’ll let you know what happens next. If something else we do fits better, we’ll point you to it.

Common questions

Questions about the season

If yours isn’t here, just ask.

Who can sign up?

Youth, young adults, and families in a hard season. Some are already in a mentoring relationship with us, some we helped with something practical earlier in the year, and some we’re meeting for the first time.

When do signups open and close?

This holiday season, signups are open now until November 25. Get in touch to sign up. We’re in the office Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:00pm. Giving is open all year.

Are the Christmas gifts new?

What we can provide varies from season to season, so it’s best to ask us about this year.

How are donations used?

They support every part of our work, holiday meals and gifts included. If you’d like yours to go toward the holidays, let us know when you give. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Does monthly giving support the seasonal work?

Yes. Monthly giving helps carry the seasonal work, and one-time gifts help just as much. Both go to the same campaign, which is open all year.

Can I give food or gifts instead of money?

Yes, those are welcome. What’s needed changes each season, so ask us first.

How can my business partner with you?

The same way volunteers do. Businesses come alongside this work through the whole year, not only at the holidays, and we’ll talk through what makes sense for you.

How to give or help

Two ways to make a season happen.

A season costs something before it begins. Both of these are how it gets paid for: in money, and in people.

  • Give once or monthly

Giving goes through our Givebutter campaign, which is open all year and supports mentoring and the practical help alongside it, including seasonal support. Monthly giving helps carry the holidays too.

    Donate

Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

  • Volunteer or partner

Whether you want to give your time or sponsor part of what a season needs, it starts the same way. Volunteers and local businesses both come alongside this work, and we’ll talk through what fits.

  • Giving something other than money

Food and gifts are welcome as well. What’s needed, and where to bring it, changes each season, so ask us first and we’ll tell you what would actually help rather than have you guess.

We’d love to hear from you.
